Default Outbound and inbound links

What are they?

What is considered an outbound link?

What is considered an inbound link?

How many on a page is to many?

An outbound link is a link on the page that goes to any external link.

A link to a link partners website, or a link that goes to a casino property, or any other resource for the visitor that leaves your website.

A link to another page within your website is not considered an outbound link.

An inbound link is a link from any external website that pints to any page within your website.

Here on this page at Google, they recommend keeping the number at 100 or lower.

Here Matt Cutts discusses this.

I actually usually try to keep it at 25 or lower on a few sites, and most sites I keep lower than that and usually it is only link exchange pages that even get close to the 25 mark.

Good question, good answer!

I link all my sites to each other on every page. Some say not to do that but I do. Any thoughts?

Well heck,

I was thinking that maybe to many outbound links (affiliate links to casino) had caused my PR drop over the past year.

Along with search placement in google.

I'm running out of ideas or causes. I'm so lost!

I haven't made any drastic changes, keep it updated, good keywords....I just dont know.

Inbound links are those links pointing to your site while outbound links are link s from your site pointing to other site. The relevance and quality of inbound and outbound links are important factors in determining site authority.
